Hi family, friends and anyone who was directed here.
I've decided that I want to travel a bit. I found this program where I get to volunteer for two weeks in a different country. There's Thailand, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, New Zealand, Australia, and a few others. The one I'm looking at right now is Costa Rica. I heard there's a lot of potential sailing to be had, and I think it would be awesome to be on and off the coast of Costa Rica for a few weeks, and they teach me a bit of the country's language before I head over there.
I'm also looking at Ecuador, because they have a one-week program where they go to the Galapagos Islands. It just sounds like a super cool way to spend a bit of the summer. And I can get college credits for it.
So I'm asking you to read this because even though it's a relatively cheap program, it still costs a good bit of money for me. The total price is around $1900. Yeah. I think I have about $400 to my name right now. That amount might be a bit more by the end of the year (I'm going to start selling my plasma every two weeks), but for now I'm asking you guys to donate a portion of money for the trip.
The only concerning factor is "What if you don't go James?" It's totally possible that I get stuck on some waiting list and I can't go this Summer, or I decide that I might not want to. I'm pretty sure Paypal has a refund function if I don't go, but JUST IN CASE, you should send me an email saying how much you donated, so I can get it back to you (It will be in a separate savings account, sitting there until Summer).
SO PLEASE FIND THE DONATE BUTTON ON THIS PAGE AND GIVE ME ANYWHERE BETWEEN $5-$1900
Much love,
James Campbell

P.S.
I'm not entirely sure which volunteer program I'll be doing yet. In Costa Rica, I'd be removing nets from areas where endangered species live, as well as protecting nests of sea turtles. At this point it's kind of vague, because there's a lot that I COULD do, but it will become clear when that time rolls around. Wherever I go, there will be a lot of conservation and community development programs.
